Why Google Ads?

Google Ads (previously Google AdWords) is a digital marketing platform that lets you show advertisements on Google search results pages. When someone searches a phrase related to your advertised services, they'll be shown your ad.

Google Partner

Firstly, you might be wondering what the difference between Google Ads and Google AdWords is. Google AdWords first launched as a marketing platform in 2000. In 2018, this platform underwent a rebranding in which the name was changed to Google Ads - but rest assured, the marketing potential remains!

Google Ads is a form of Pay Per Click (PPC) marketing, in which you pay only when a potential customer clicks the link to your ad. PPC and digital marketing have levelled the playing field for small businesses - you no longer need to invest hundreds of thousands of dollars into a marketing campaign for it to be successful. Instead, Google Ads presents a cost-effective way to generate leads and start seeing results fast.

One of the major benefits to Google Ads is that your ads only show up to people searching for related phrases - which means your audience is almost guaranteed to be interested in your services, and motivated to buy. You can even split your ads up based on different services, so each individual advert will target a specific Google search. This allows you to target a wide range of potential customers who might be looking for slightly different services.

So, you want to set up a Google Ads account - great!

However, managing Google Ads isn't as easy as it might seem. Anyone can set up a Google Ads account, but not everyone can do it well. The set-up can be highly technical, and there are a range of factors that need to be considered, including which keywords to target and how to allocate budget. Furthermore, the online market is constantly changing, so even if your ads are set up perfectly they'll need to be edited to keep up with the changing digital landscape.

Setting up and monitoring Google Ads can quickly become a full time job - which is where we come in.

Why Helium for your PPC Manag-ement?

Why Helium for your Google Ads Management?

Google Ads management can be technical, complex, and extremely time-consuming – which is why we’ve dedicated ourselves to learning all the ins and outs of Google Ads.  Each of our digital marketers have extensive experience using Google Ads, and two are certified Digital Search Marketing Specialists. Our marketers are familiar with the broad range of different ad types, settings, and targeting options, and they know which options work best for different types of businesses.

At Helium, our work is never truly done. We’re always striving to learn more and create better results for our clients. As a team, we’ve spent weeks trialling different techniques to optimise our accounts, and get the best possible return on their investment.

We also know that when it comes to Google Ads, one size doesn’t fit all. Your business isn’t the same as anyone else’s, so why would their Google Ads settings work for you? While we know the common denominator settings that work best for most clients, we also know that flexibility and a willingness to use different techniques will give you the best shot at success.

At Helium, we know that a successful Google Ads campaign doesn’t just rely on the ads themselves. Sure, people will click on your ads – but what then? The truth is, for Google Ads to be successful the whole experience from clicking on the ad to filling out a contact form (or buying a product, or booking an appointment) needs to be streamlined. No matter how good your Google Ads are, if customers don’t like what they see after they click on the ads, you’re not going to get results.

The webpage that potential customers land on after clicking on your ad is called a landing page, and it's a critical aspect of Google Ads success. There are a number of factors that make a landing page more likely to generate results, and our team is familiar with all of them.

When you trust Helium with your Google Ads management, you get the option of having a whole new landing page designed by our creative team. We’re that dedicated to giving you results.

The days when marketing was reserved for big businesses in print and television are long gone, but paying for marketing can still be a hurdle for small businesses with tight margins.

At Helium, we know that there are small businesses across Perth offering valuable services, and we want to make sure they don’t get priced out of the market. We pride ourselves on affordable and top-quality services. Whether your business is big or small, we’re confident that you won’t find better rates for Google Ads management and marketing services.

Not convinced yet? No problem – investing in marketing can be daunting for any business, which is why we offer a 30-day free trial. During this month, we’ll create and monitor your Google Ads, and you’ll get a taste of what we can do for you. We’re not interested in just taking your money – we want to secure a long-term partnership and give you real results.

On top of our 30-day free trial, all Helium packages come with no lock-in contract or minimum term. There's no pressure to stick with us - but we're sure you'll want to.

Our approach to PPC manag-ement.

Our approach to Google Ads management.

  • Google Search Ads

Google Search Ads are the bread and butter of Google Ads – they're efficient, they get the job done, and they’re used almost universally. When you search for a service or product in Google, these are the ads that show at the top of the results page.

These ads are a great way of generating traffic to your website, and getting motivated customers looking at your services. Since they’ve already searched a phrase related to your business, these customers are actively looking for your services and are likely going to be ready to buy.

While the most common use of Google Search Ads is to advertise products or services, they’re also great for brand awareness. Think of it this way – if someone is searching for your brand name, don’t you want to make sure you’re the top result they find? With Google Search Ads, we can direct people who are searching for your brand name to your website, and make sure they don’t find a competitor’s website instead.

Google Search Ads are usually the first type of ad we’ll set up for you, as they tend to generate fast results and high-quality leads.

  • Google Display Ads

These are the ads that pop up on the side of websites, or in blog articles. They’re designed to be eye-catching, and usually feature an image, gif, or video about your business. These ads are placed by Google into different web pages, and can reach a broad audience at a fairly low price point.

Our in-house design team have years of experience creating striking graphics for these ads, at no extra cost to you.

  • Google Ads Remarketing

You know those ads that seem to follow you around across the web? Those are remarketing ads, and they’re perfect for getting sales from customers who have already visited your website.

Maybe a customer clicked on one of your ads, but they weren’t ready to buy anything at that point. Rather than let them forget about you, we can set up remarketing Google Ads to remind them of how great your services are and how much they need them!

Google Ads uses code to determine which users have visited your website, and then tracks them as they move around the web. This gives you a whole audience of potential customers who are primed to spend money with your business – you just have to tap into it.

Google Display Ads are usually a good option for Google Remarketing campaigns, since they give a quick visual reminder of your services.

  • Landing Pages

Landing page optimisation is vital to the success of your Google Ads. At no extra cost, we’ll create new landing pages which are optimised to encourage customers to buy. Our in-house graphic designers will create a brand new page specifically for your ads, and our copywriter will write a compelling description of your services designed to encourage customers to buy.

It’s long been proven that when a landing page is closely aligned with an ad, customers are more likely to engage with it. It makes sense – if you click on an advert for a service, you don’t want to be taken to an unrelated page. When we design landing pages, they give your potential customers the information that they’re actually looking for, and an easy way for them to pay for your services.

  • Conversion Tracking

To monitor the success of a Google Ads campaign, it’s important to be able to determine when your customers are converting. In Google Ads talk, “conversions” are any action that you want someone to take after they click on an ad – whether it be filling in a contact form, booking an appointment, or purchasing a product.

At Helium, we believe in data-driven results, and we set up and manage conversion tracking for your Google Ads. This way, we’re able to tell what’s working and what’s not.

  • Monitoring & Editing

So we’ve set up the perfect Google Ads for your business. What’s to stop us from sitting back, letting them run, and continuing to take your money?

Well if we did that, they wouldn’t stay perfect for long. Google Ads require continuous monitoring to remain effective – the online market is constantly changing, and if you don’t keep up with it you’ll be left behind. Continuous updates and edits need to be made to any Google Ads campaign to ensure it keeps reaching its target audience, and to ensure that the ads are still compelling to this audience.

We make updates to all the Google Ads accounts we run every week at a minimum – you won’t catch us slacking off. And because we monitor our accounts so carefully, we’re able to see when things aren’t working. If you’re not getting the ROI that you should be, we’ll see it and make changes before you start losing money.

  • How much should I spend on Google Ads?

Based on our experience with Google Ads, $1000 a month per Google Ads campaign is an ideal budget to start seeing results quickly.

As a minimum, we would recommend $500 a month per campaign. While there’s no one right answer for all businesses, these are the figures at which we start seeing tangible results for our clients.

Of course, these figures are minimum numbers – typically with Google Ads, the more money you spend the better results you get. It’s important to note here that we have nothing to gain from you spending more on advertising. Our fees are separate to your advertising budget, and we don’t take a cut of the money you spend on ads. All of our recommendations are unbiased, and our only goal is to help you see results.

  • Do I really need a new landing page?

We offer landing page creation as a service because we find that specially-designed landing pages make customers more likely to convert. However, depending on your website, you might not actually need one.

There are several factors necessary to make your existing website page an effective landing page. These factors can be more difficult to control in a website than in an individual, custom-built landing page. Your website will need to be well designed and trusted by Google. Further, it will need to have a fast loading time – customers are impatient, and if they have to wait around for your webpage to load, they’re more likely to just leave the page. It will also need to have a page that is well suited to your specific advert. If you have all of these factors – great! You probably don’t need a custom landing page.

If you’re reading this and realising that your website doesn’t have an ideal landing page, that’s where we come in. It can be time consuming and difficult to address all of these factors when editing an entire website. We’ve found that it’s usually more efficient to create an entirely new page, which we can ensure will load quickly and provide all the information that customers need to convert.

  • Should I use Facebook Ads instead of Google Ads?

Google Ads are ideal way of getting an audience that is actively seeking out your services, and is ready to convert. We’ve found greater success using Google Ads than Facebook Ads across almost all of our clients, which is why we recommend it as the first PPC marketing option to look into.

However, there are some clients who do see results from Facebook Ads. This difference usually has to do with the specific services being offered, and what audiences you’re trying to target.

We can advise you on whether we think your business will benefit from Facebook Ads once we know more about your services. If you’re interested in Facebook Ads, we usually recommend using them together with Google Ads, rather than setting up Facebook Ads alone.

  • How long does it take to start seeing results?

One of the benefits of Google Ads is that they tend to start generating results quickly. Compared to Search Engine Optimisation, Google Ads are an effective way to quickly find new, interested customers.

After they are first set up, Google Ads must pass an approval process. This review doesn’t usually take more than one day. After this, they’ll be live – and people will start seeing them!

For around a week after the ads are live, they’ll be in a learning period. This is when Google collects data from your ads to figure out which ads to show to potential customers, and which specific combination of headlines and descriptions generates the best results. During this time, you should slowly see an increase in conversions. After this learning period, your ads will be optimised by Google and you'll start seeing the bulk of inquiries.

  • How do I get started?

So, you’re ready to sign up? You can get in contact with Helium here – submit a form or give us a call, and we’ll discuss your business and what sort of marketing you’re after. We only take clients who we truly believe we can help, so you don’t need to worry about any pushy salesmanship.

From there, we’ll get you started with your 30-day free trial and start wow-ing you with results.
