Abbily One Day Website Example
  • Who will build my new website?

You'll have a dedicated team working for you on the day. This includes a professional Designer, Copywriter, and Account Manager — the dream team. Sometimes we throw a Developer in there too, if your website build is a little more complex.

The Account Coordinater will be your primary point of in the lead up to the day and on the day. They manage the rest of the team, talk broader marketing strategies with you (if you like), answer any questions you have, and generally support you throughout the day wherever you need.

The Copywriter creates all the written content for your site. Sometimes, business owners provide a rough draft for us to work with, other times, our Copywriter creates it all from scratch. Either way, they'll ensure your content is catchy, engaging, and enjoyable to read — and encourages people to get in touch with you.

The Designer makes your website look fresh and engaging, and ensures it reflect your brand. It'll be simple to use and edit, and website visitors will easily be able to navigate the site to find what they need. They'll make your website pop with cool animations, eye-catching fonts, crisp imagery, and slick colour combos — always utilising modern design trends and best practices.

The Developer helps with any technical stuff that falls outside the expertise of our other three pros. Often, we don't actually call on our Developer, but we'd like to let you know that we can if we need to.

To see who exactly could be working on your website project, check out our People Page.

  • What happens in the lead up to the day?

Get started by signing up online. You'll be asked to pay a 50% deposit, which secures your booking. After that, you'll be linked to a simple online briefing form where you can tell us all about your business.

When your briefing form comes thorugh, we'll match you with one of our Account Managers who will personally oversee and coordinate your website project. The match is based on the personal interests and past experience of the Account Manager, as well as the industry of your business. Pretty cool! They'll reach out to you to introduce themselves, confirm the booking, and ask any additional questions about your business. You can ask them questions, too.

  • What happens on the day?

We'll start with a 9:00am briefing meeting. Usually, this happens in our board room, but if you're doing your One Day Website remote, it'll be a video call. This meeting is a chance for us to get to know one another. We'll go over that initial briefing form you sent through in more detail and ask any additional questions. You can share your hopes for the website, broading business goals, and ask us anything, too.

Then, your Copywriter and Designer will get started on an awesome Home Page concept for you. We'll check in, get feedback, and make adjustment as needed until you're obsessed with it. Once the Home Page is approved, this really sets the tone for the rest of the site, and it all comes together pretty quickly. Throughout the day, we'll continue checking in for feedback — you can make as many changes as you like on the day as guide the design and written content as you see fit.

Once all five pages are complete, our Designer sits down with you for a one-on-one training session where they'll show you how to edit and update your website. Don't worry — it's super easy!

That's basically it. When you're ready, we'll make the website live and you're good to go. You can make your website live on the same day, or give us the nod when you're ready down the track if you have a few other business bits and pieces to sort out before the launch.

  • What if it doesn’t get finished on time?

It's very unlikely that your website won't be finished by 5:00pm. In fact, most of our websits wrap up even earlier than that!

However, it does happen (very rarely). This comes down to the level of complexity of the site, and if there were many unexpected, significant changes throughout the day. We're talking complete redesigns, massive writing edits, or other big changes late in the day.

The good news is, if your build flows onto the next day, more often than not, there is no additional charge (we'll let you know if this isn't the case). As we said at the start, this is extremely uncommon. Out of our hundreds of One Day Website builds, this had only happened a handful of times. And when it did happen, it was usually completed by midday the next day.

  • Do I have to build the website in just one day?

No. If you'd like to purchase the One Day Website package and roll it out over a long period, that's absolutely fine. Note that this is not the same as your One Day Website not being finished in a single day (as covered in the previous point).

What we mean is, you're welcome to purchase a One Day Website package as request it actually be completed over a week or a month (but no more than three months). The process remains exactly the same, just spread out over a longer period. We just need a concrete deadline from you so we know what end date to work towards.

It'll be simple to use and edit, and website visitors will easily be able to navigate the site to find what they need. They'll make your website pop with cool animations, eye-catching fonts, crisp imagery, and slick colour combos — always utilising modern design trends and best practices.

  • What's included in my eCommerce website package?

Your eCommerce website will be tailored to your needs, and that includes custom scoping, inclusions, and pricing. However, we can tell you that your eCommerce website will be SEO-ready, beautifully designed, and have highly engaging written content.

It'll also include a digital inventory where it's easy to upload products, track, and manage your online store (and the sales you get from it). You'll also be able to manage shipping. With one-on-one website training, you'll be a pro when it comes to selling online and making website edits.

Finally, we can also help you with the complex stuff, like domains and hosting, if you want us to.

As a guide, here's what you get:

    • Three (maybe four) website-building pros.
    • Website pages of your choice.
    • Basic SEO.
    • Wholesale logins and member logins (if relevant).
    • Captivating graphics and layouts, your brand colours and logo incorporated, moving elements, all backed by best design practices.
    • Online store inventory.
    • If you don't have a logo (e.g. you're a brand-spanking new business), a basic text logo will be included at no extra charge.
    • Unlimited access to an image library with over 400 million professional stock photos.
    • Catchy headlines and highly engaging written content that informs, educates, and encourages people to take action, without the dreaded "sales push".
    • Sorting out all that hosting and domain stuff, if needed.
  • What software are your eCom websites built in?

We can build eCom websites in Duda (the Helium website is built in Duda!) or Wordpress. Both are well-equipped for eCommerce websites and what they entail. The platform you choose simply depends on the complexity of your store, your business needs, and your personal preference.

In either platform, we'll ensure your website is code-free, which means you'll never need to hire technical experts or Developers to help you. You'll have full control of the website once the build is complete and won't need to rely on us for future updates. Of course, we're always available to help you if you need us.

  • Can I edit the website after you build it?

Absolutely. Once the build is done, you'll get personalised training that ensures you feel confident to manage your online store and make website edits on your own.

  • What do I need to do to prepare for my eCommerce website build?

Once you sign up and pay a deposit (which secures your booking), you'll be linked to a simple online briefing form where you can tell us all about your business. Filling this in is all you need to do before we can start the build. After that, all you need to do is be available now and then. Pretty easy!

The briefing form will ask you about the business, your products, your points of difference, the colours you'd prefer to see, as well as the general "vibe" you're aspiring to. If you have a website already, you can share what you do and don't like about it. If you have a logo or style guide, you'll be asked to supply that to us, and if you have any product photos or product descriptions, we'd love to have those, too.

  • How can I manage stock and shipping?

Your eCom website comes with a built-in digital inventory where it's easy to upload products, track, and manage your online store (and the sales you get from it). You'll also be able to manage shipping.

With one-on-one website training, you'll be a pro when it comes to selling online and making website edits.

  • Can you build my eCommerce website as a One Day Website?

Yes! If your online store doesn't have many products and your website has five pages or less, it'll be a great fit for our One Day Website package.

Website terminology.

  • One page

When talking about the size of a website, we refer to it by the number of "pages" it contains. If your eCom site had 8 pages, these might be:

    1. Home
    2. About
    3. Giving Back
    4. Shop
    5. Blog
    6. Terms and Conditions
    7. Privacy Policy
    8. Contact

The exact pages you want are up to you. If you'd like some help, we can advise you on the pages we think would be best.

  • Sitemap

Following on from the last point, a collection of pages is called a "sitemap". Using the same example, your complete sitemap for your website might be:

    1. Home
    2. About
    3. Giving Back
    4. Shop
    5. Blog
    6. Terms and Conditions
    7. Privacy Policy
    8. Contact

It goes without saying that your sitemap is totally up to you. Structuring your website and sitemap actually falls into the expertise of our Copywriter, so we can definitely assist here if needed.

  • Content Management System — Duda & WordPress

A "Content Management System" — also known as CMS — its the software used to build and edit the website. For example, an eCommerce website can be built in Duda or WordPress. Both are built without code, which means it's easy for you to use and edit after the build is complete.

  • SEO

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. It's the process of getting your website picked up by search engines, like Google, with the goal of appearing on the first page of search engine results. SEO is an extremely time intensive (but worth it) marketing strategy that takes months of work before you start seeing results.

However, we implement basic SEO during your eCom build to help you get a head start. We can also provide ongoing SEO to help your shop stand out on Google.
