SEO Services

SEO services for Perth businesses.

So, who’s the best SEO agency in Perth?

Honestly, we don't know if it's us...

Chances are, you’ve been googling SEO agencies to find the cream of the crop. Isn't it a crazy coincidence that they're all "the best"?

With heaps of great SEO service providers here in Perth, you've probably noticed every man and his dog claims to be the best. Here are four headlines we’ve pulled from four different (and credible) SEO agencies in Perth:

  • Perth’s #1 SEO Company.
  • What makes us Perth’s #1 for SEO?
  • Australia’s Top SEO Specialists.
  • Perth’s #1 SEO agency.

Four very big, and basically impossible to prove, claims.

We honestly don't know whether we're the best SEO agency — but we sure are good at it.

Why Helium for your SEO?

You might be coming to us pretty darn skeptical about this whole SEO business, and that’s understandable. Hopefully you'll find it comforting to know that we really value transparency and realism. We know some businesses will achieve incredible results through our SEO services, and some won’t. We’d prefer to be upfront about this and have a back-up plan. After all, it’s literally impossible for every business to be in the top spot on Google — sometimes it’s just not economical to compete for this placement.

So, if we think SEO isn’t going to work for you, rather than waste your time and money, we’ll tell you why and what we think will work better.

We’re driven, hardworking, ever-learning (and honestly, not bad looking) digital experts, ready to roll up our sleeves. We’re absolutely committed to making SEO work for you and giving you the best chance possible.

We excel for our clients because of our absolute commitment to them. We put in the late nights, and work an abundance of hours to get you ranking in Google. We're aspirational, and want to get better results than we did yesterday to create a winning partnership with you.

Never feel like you’re being neglected again, or that you’re “too small for an agency”. We'll look after you.

We love being generous and keep our prices affordble so even small businesses have a shot at getting to the top of Google. We even make our pricing public (scroll down if you want to see it), not only because we value transparency, but because we're confident in how competitive our SEO offering is.

We like giving clients “no brainer” decisions. When our costs are a fraction of the value we deliver, retaining us is a no brainer. Plus, we know lock-in contracts and minimum terms suck, so we don't do those. To sweeten the deal even more, we chuck in a 30-day free trial with all of our monthly marketing services, SEO included.

Our approach to SEO.

  • SEO Keyword Map

Half SEO strategy, half common sense. We do our keyword research to find your relevant high traffic keywords with low competition. These are your best bet for getting ranked.

Then, we build a spreadsheet of the main pages on your website, and lay out which of the chosen keywords each page could rank for, along with suggested heading titles, URL slug changes, H1s and meta descriptions. We ensure all of these are keyword rich and use best practises, like no underscores for URL slugs, keeping h1s under 60 characters, and so on.

With your approval, we go through and make these changes. Often, this first activity is enough to start seeing keyword movement (positive changes in keyword rankings) within 60 days.

  • Technical SEO Site Audit

We put a big emphasis on the health of your website. We know Google deeply cares about the experience of their users, and penalise any website that isn’t playing nice with visitors. We’re talking about:

    • slow page load time.
    • mobile responsiveness.
    • poor accessibility settings like low contrast fonts or lack of alt tags.
    • Redirect chains.

The list goes on. To give you an idea of the magnitude of thoroughness of this audit, we test your website against 46 possible critical errors (red), 53 possible warnings (yellow), and 35 possible notices (blue). We work our way through resolving the most important errors first, before moving on to the others. This process alone can take months, but it depends on your score. For example, our most significant audit to date identified 168 errors, 3,020 warnings, and 998 notices. Another time, we had a client with an almost perfect score!

  • Content Generation

Your website won’t rank for keywords if they aren’t on your website, so generating content is a big focus for us. We initially look at your main pages (as identified in the keyword map) and consider the content on each of these pages. Is there enough content? Or too much? Is it relevant? How can it be optimised?

We can gradually rewrite your website with fresh content to help with your rankings. As an example, if all of your services are listed on a single page, that page most likely isn’t going to rank for any one of those services. But, we can break the single page into a dedicated page per service.

Once we’ve got the main pages sorted, we focus on blogs. This is a never-ending activity of generating interest in your website, so that Google knows you’re helping your prospective customers find the information they're searching for.

  • Link Building & DA

The last piece of the puzzle is getting other websites to link to yours. You’ve probably heard this described as "increasing the quantity and quality of your backlinks".

There’s this thing called “Domain Authority” or DA, and this is a rank from 0/100 that describes how credible your website is in the eyes of search engines, like Google. A new website will start at 0/100, a multi-national website (like Google themselves) will sit at high end of the 90s. The higher this number, the better the chance of your website outranking your competitors for your chosen keywords. If you have a higher DA than your competitor, Google will probably put your website first (it’s not that straight forward, but you get the point).

So how do we go about increasing your DA? It’s all about popularity. The more eyes on you, the higher this score will be. We’re talking about website traffic and the number of referring domains. If search engines can see that tonnes of other highly regarded websites are linking to you, then you must also be a highly regarded website, and worthy of sending visitors too.

The "www" in front of your website stands for World Wide Web. It’s not called The Web for nothing (fun fact, it was actually almost called The Mesh) and our job with link building is to get you connected to the rest of the web.

  • Monitoring & Analysis

All of the above points sound pretty impressive, but we know they don't mean anything unless they generates results and a ROI for you.

We pay for your website to get connected to a SEO tool called Ahrefs, which is a powerful search engine tool — second to only Google themselves. As you will see from us over time, this tool has  data-based reports that demonstrate the traction (or lack therefore) being made. We’re constantly monitoring this for improvements and feedback, so that your site can be further optimised.

We’ll show you the keywords that you've started ranking for, how much website traffic this has generated, and also the value of that traffic. Although the ROI you get from sales will always be the ultimate figure to focus on, we do like to communicate the value of the traffic we generate as this is an easy way to describe the relative changes and improvements made each month.

So, how much does SEO cost?

A fixed monthly cost of $1,349 + GST per month.

In keeping with Helium's approach to pricing, our services are as affordable as practically possible, without compromising on quality. Some of our competitors quote up to four times this amount (don't take our word for it, check for yourself!) which is simply out of reach for most businesses — especially for a slow moving marketing method like SEO, where results aren't guaranteed.

A range of SEO activities are included for this price:

  • Keyword mapping — Find the right keywords to pursue (high volume, low keyword difficulty).
  • Technical site audit — Identify issues with your website that are blocking SEO results.
  • Content generation — Create content that lists you for your desired keywords.
  • Link Building  Once you have high quality content, get it linked to from other websites.
  • Ongoing Monitoring & Analysis  Constant surveillance of results and analysis for further search engine optimisation.

Don't forget the 30-day free trial.

As a symbol of our commitment to long-term relationships, we offer the first month of SEO service for free. This is an opportunity for you to try us out, see if we're a good fit, and whether you like the direction we're proposing.

However, just to be straight with you, no business will see significant SEO results in the first month, so there's not any point starting a free trial if that's the timeframe you have in mind. SEO is a notoriously slow digital marketing method that takes time to see results — and those results aren't always guaranteed.

We can certainly show you progress, though — for example, increased position for target keywords and increased organic traffic. However this may not translate into enquiries immediately. Want to talk about what to expect? Get in touch to talk about what's possible for your business.

Website SEO Dashboard Example
  • How do I get started with my 30-day free trial?

It’s super simple. Fill out this free trial form and we'll assign you an Account Manager who will be in touch to get the ball rolling. You’ll be linked through to an online briefing form that you can complete while you’re waiting.

  • Am I guaranteed results from SEO?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way (we wish it did!). But, we offer the first 30 days free — with no lock-in contract or minimum term — so you can walk away the moment you feel like you're not getting value.

As you can imagine, with our whole client base on a no lock-in contract we’re pretty darn motivated to get decent results for you!

  • Why does SEO take time to generate results?

Firstly, we can start to see progress relatively quickly such as showing you new keywords you have started ranking for and their gradual improvements. Let’s say you wanted to start ranking for “SEO Services Perth”. If you weren’t yet ranking for this, we’d be able to see you went from no ranking, to position 97 (denoted as x -> 97). The next month, it might move up 10 positions (97 -> 87). While we can see that our efforts have worked and your keyword SEO Services Perth moving in the right direction, there is no significant traffic or commercial value in this yet (no one goes onto page nine of Google to find a business...). You'll start to see traffic when you hit the second page of Google.

Secondly, it takes time for search engines to recrawl your website and recognise the work that we have done. Furthermore, the reporting tools are delayed in showing these results. Despite Ahrefs being the second most powerful crawler, it takes a full 60 days for them to recheck every single keyword and website on the internet. So, there's a natural delay in Google improving your rankings, and our tools in recognising the improvements once Google has picked them up.

But as discussed, there is evidence of progress even if the initial stages there isn’t commercial traction. Until this happens we have ongoing and transparent conversations about the progress and if the agreement is heading in the right direction.

  • Why even bother with SEO?

So, if SEO is a risk and takes a lot of time and energy, why should you bother considering it? Like most things, the higher the, risk the higher the reward.

SEO is unique, as once you secure a high position for a high traffic keyword, you are effectively getting free leads forever after. We literally see businesses achieve website traffic worth 10s of thousands of dollars every month. SEO Thought Leader, Neil Patel, even shows us how over decades he’s built a monthly traffic volume equivalent to him spending $5 million a month on advertising. Obviously that’s an extreme example, but the point is, with SEO we can build a sustainable source of website traffic that converts into customers, unlike any other advertising effort.
